The Police Department is authorized to remove or cause to be removed to the nearest garage or other place of safety, or to a garage designated or maintained by the City, any vehicle that is stopped, standing or parked in violation of Sections 6.28.080, 6.28.160 through 6.28.180 and 6.28.230 through 6.28.320 of this chapter, and when signs are posted giving notice of such removal. The provisions of Sections 22851, 22852 and 22853 of the Vehicle Code of the state pertaining to notice to owner and garage keepers’ lien, shall apply in the event of such removal.
