The master official bond, provided for in this chapter, shall have an authorized surety company as surety and shall contain an agreement by said surety to indemnify the City during the term of the bond against any loss or losses sustained by the City through any fraudulent or dishonest act or acts committed by any one or more of the employees of the City, acting alone or in collusion with others, or through failure of any officer or employee to faithfully perform their official duties; provided, however, that uniformed personnel of the Police Department may be excepted from the faithful performance coverage of said bond.
