Section 30. Library trustees.

Five Library Trustees shall be appointed and may be removed by a vote of five members of the Council and one of such trustees must be appointed by the Council from its own members.1 The Board of Library Trustees shall have power to manage the library and to appoint, discipline and dismiss all officers and employees of the library.
1"…of the Council and one of such trustees must be appointed by the Council from its own members" was inadvertently omitted from the 1994 through 2004 printings of the Charter due to a clerical error. The complete sentence was corrected in November, 2005.
