A. The City Council may set by resolution the maximum rates to be charged per flag drop, per mile and per minute of waiting time or traffic delay time. If such resolution is adopted, no rates higher than those established by the City shall be charged.

B. As of January 1, 2002, all drivers and business owners shall accept taxi scrip if it is offered by a passenger, at the value shown on the taxi scrip. The City Council may set by resolution the rate at which the City will redeem taxi scrip. Drivers, business owners and dispatchers may not inquire prior to providing or scheduling service whether payment will be in the form of cash or taxi scrip.
