It is the purpose and intent of this Chapter to provide that all persons engaged in the practice of Massage Therapy in the City of Berkeley shall possess either a valid California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) certification or a valid Massage Therapy Permit and that all massage establishments that employ persons who possess a valid massage therapy permit also possess a valid Massage Establishment Permit. These procedures and regulations are declared necessary to preserve and protect the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the City.
