The provisions of this chapter and the pensions and benefits provided herein shall apply only to those persons who are first employed by the Police or Fire Department on or after the effective date of this chapter.

In no event shall the provisions hereof or the pensions and benefits provided hereunder apply to any person receiving a pension from the City at the effective date thereof under any other pension statute or ordinance applicable to the City policemen or firemen. (Ord. 3558-NS § 34, 1957)
