All contributions of members of the Fire Department made under the procedures provided in the preceding section shall be on a purely voluntary basis. No deductions shall be made from the salary of any member unless and until such member shall authorize the City Auditor in writing to make the deductions for contributions in the manner and amounts as provided in Section 4.20.310 of this chapter.
