The commission may render advice and guidance with respect to any proposed work not requiring a City permit, on a designated landmark site, in a designated historic district or on a designated structure of merit site. Examples of the work referred to are: painting and repainting of exterior surfaces; fencing; landscaping; and installation of lighting fixtures.
