It shall be the duty of the Police Department, Animal Services Division, or other designee of the City Manager to apprehend or cause to be apprehended any dog found running at large contrary to the provisions of this chapter. Such dog shall be impounded in the City Animal Shelter or other suitable place designated for such purpose. Upon receipt of any dog for impounding, a complete registry shall be made entering the breed, color and sex of such dog and whether or not licensed.
